Terms & Conditions

Before booking an appointment, please read and understand the following terms and conditions (T&C).

  1. Hold Harmless
I agree to hold Jolita Gunter and World of MEOW harmless from any damage, loss, or claims arising from any condition of my cat(s), whether known or unknown. These damages, loss, or claims shall include but are not limited to death and injury. Pre-existing conditions shall include but are not limited to illness, previous injury, skin and coat conditions, medical conditions, advanced age, nervousness, or other medical conditions.
  1. Cat Safety
Under no circumstances can we guarantee the completion of a groom. Even gentle grooming causes stress to an animal at a minimum because the animal is outside of its home. Please inform us of any prior grooming history – good or bad. Cat safety and welfare is our priority, and if we cannot handle your cat safely (due to frantic or behavior, stress signs, and others), we reserve the right to refuse any service at any time. Previously discussed grooming styles (i.e., Lion Cut, Teddy Cut, etc.) may not be completed. This decision is in the cat’s best interest to prevent harm from coming to them. The client will be responsible for payment of any services that are completed in lieu of the previously discussed styles.
  1. Medical Information
You agree that the cat is fit and healthy, and current on all annual vaccinations before their grooming appointment. You are required to inform us about all medical problems your cat has before your appointment, and it is your responsibility to continue to disclose any new or old medical conditions of your cat before every appointment. We will not sedate your cat, and we must be informed if you have given your cat any medication before our visit. You are also required to inform us about any allergies or sensitivities your cat has or had. This is important as it can determine whether your cat can be safely groomed, or whether we will need to refer you to your vet instead. Health conditions including (but not limited to) diabetes, heart murmur, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, hyperthyroidism, seizures, and being overweight result in a higher risk of incident during grooming. The client agrees that Jolita Gunter and World of MEOW are not liable for any pre-existing conditions and problems found during grooming, and the pet owner agrees to pay for all medical treatment incurred due to such.
  1. Senior Cats and Cats with Preexisting Health Conditions
Any grooming that takes place on an elderly cat or cat with health problems will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health and/or skin problems, and elderly cats are at a higher risk for nicks and cuts from shaving because of their skin being very thin for which Jolita Gunter and World of MEOW cannot be held liable.
  1. Dematting/Detangling
Dematting/detangling of matted hair may cause patchiness and hair loss. Consent to remove the matted hair is on this understanding. Shaving your cat will dramatically change the pet’s appearance, and the hair will be very close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions for which Jolita Gunter and World of MEOW is not responsible. Removal of mats, whether by shaving or dematting procedure, can be stressful to your pet and may exacerbate stress-sensitive health problems. Severe matting and/or pelting will result in an additional surcharge, based upon the severity of the problem and the time required to correct it. A fecal removal surcharge and/or biter surcharge may also apply.
  1. Parasites
World of MEOW is a flea and other parasites free salon. If your cat has fleas or other parasites, please do not bring your cat for grooming. We recommend that you contact your vet to provide you with the best recommended treatment for your cat and your home. If fleas or other parasites are found on your cat during grooming, we will automatically apply an extra fee of £30 for a flea bath, additional cleaning, and disinfection of our premises and equipment.
  1. Ringworm and other fungal infections
If you suspect that your cat has a ringworm or other fungal infection, please do not bring your cat to our salon. Let us know if your cat recently had or is recovering from ringworm or any other fungal infection, and we will determine if your cat can be safely groomed. If we notice any evidence of ringworm on your cat during grooming, we will stop the groom immediately and ask you to pick up your cat and take it to the vet. On top of the regular grooming price, an additional charge of £100 will be applied for disinfecting and cleaning our premises.
  1. Vet consent
In the event of an injury or health concern, Jolita Gunter and World of MEOW are authorized to contact a vet and authorize any veterinary treatment for the cat as necessary. The owner is responsible for all veterinary charges that may incur as a result. If we deem that the cat has a health concern, we will stop the groom and do our best to contact you first before taking your cat for treatment. However, this may not always be feasible.
  1. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments
To book an appointment, we require a £30 deposit which will be deducted from the final grooming price. The deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be transferred to a different date when 48h notice is given. We recommend booking your appointments in advance to get the date and time that are best suitable for you.
  1. Cancellations and no-shows
If you need to cancel your appointment, we ask that you give 48h notice to get your deposit back. We understand that unexpected situations may arise, so we ask that you give us as much notice as possible in these cases. In a no-show event, the deposit is nonrefundable and non-transferable.
  1. Payment option
We accept bank transfers, paypal or cash.
